Business confidence lowest in two years since Budget

CONFIDENCE among British businesses has slipped to its weakest level for almost two years, figures have shown.

It also saw the biggest monthon-month drop since 2021, according to the latest business trends report by accounting and advisory firm BDO.

Firms digesting the impact of October's Budget said they expect to feel pressure from rising costs, reduced customer confidence and falling orders.

The BDO optimism index fell by 5.81 points to 93.49 in November the weakest reading since January 2023.
