Being independent is 'most important thing' for so many children like Caius
Daily Express

FAMILIES of disabled children too often face a "constant battle" for support, say the parents of a boy with spina bifida who received a lifechanging wheelchair from a charity.
Caius Witheridge is unable to walk, having been born with the condition that occurs when a baby's spine and spinal cord do not develop properly.
Now aged eight, independence is the "most important thing" for Caius, said his mum Michelle, 44.
Michelle added: "We have issues with his core, he can't stand up on his own. To give him his independence, we needed a wheelchair."
A well-fitted wheelchair was vital to support his spine.
But the NHS had only provided him with a buggy which was uncomfortable and difficult to move.
