Beat the customer service 'bots' at their own game

COMPANIES love using customer service chatbots but most callers say that they prefer to speak to a human being instead.

Consumer rights expert Helen Dewdney, who styles herself The Complaining Cow, said there are ways to beat the “bots” and connect to a real life person instead.

When on live chat with a customer service chatbot, try typing “Speak to a human”, Dewdney said. “Or use phrases such as ‘This is urgent’, ‘This is an emergency’, ‘Escalate’ or ‘Speak to a manager’.”

Another trick is to deliberately key in false information.
