Bargain Hunt expert jailed for two years over art sales

BARGAIN Hunt star Oghenochuko Ojiri was yesterday jailed for two-and-a-half years after failing to report art sales to a man suspected of financing proscribed militant group Hezbollah.

Art dealer Ojiri, 53, sold pieces worth about £140,000 to Nazem Ahmad, despite knowing that Ahmad had been sanctioned in the US as a suspected financier for the outlawed Lebanese group at the time of the transactions.

Lyndon Harris, prosecuting, told the Old Bailey that Ahmad has an extensive art collection worth tens of millions of pounds, including works by Pablo Picasso and Andy Warhol, many of which are displayed in his penthouse in Beirut.
