A New Year's revolution

TELL me, did you actually bother making any New Year's resolutions? If so, has anyone, other than your family and friends, actually asked you what they are? Has a nosey stranger with a clipboard stopped you in the street, for example? I didn't think so.

The reason I ask is because, according to a show on ITV tonight, "half of all New Year's resolutions in the UK are related to fitness and weight loss".

It is not, you'll note, "half the people we asked, which to be honest was a few dozen, after which we got bored and went to the pub", but, yes, "half of all". That must have been one almighty exercise, research-wise, mustn't it?

The UK's population is now estimated to be just under 70 million (and probably just over by the time you reach the end of this paragraph).
