A NEW restaurant has been granted a late-night licence.

- BY BELINDA RYAN & ROB ANDREWS

Bosphorus, on Lawton Road, Alsager, originally applied for a licence to serve alcohol and play music from 8am to lam on weekdays and up to 2am at weekends.

But the restaurant's owners have now agreed to shorter operating hours.

It means the restaurant can open from 8am to 1.30am on Fridays and Saturdays, serving alcohol and playing live and recorded music until lam.

It will be open from 8am to lam Sunday to Thursday, with alcohol served and music played until 12.30am.

The ruling was delivered by a licensing committee at Cheshire East Council.

Objector Emma Bowyer had told the council: “For you to succeed, you're going to need to have a really, really, good relationship with the people of the town.
