CRIMINALS' ill-gotten gains are being put to good use this summer.

How criminals' cash is being put to work for positive change

Two community projects for young people in Crewe are set to benefit from a share of more than £50,000 confiscated under the Proceeds of Crime Act.

The cash has gone into Cheshire police and crime commissioner Dan Price's SWAP (Safety, Working Together, Action, Prevention) Summer Support Fund.

Young people and families will have the opportunity to take part in activities including creative arts, tennis, football, cricket and sensory play, as well as expressing themselves through art and storytelling.

The two Crewe projects that successfully applied for funding are as follows:
