Council to sign declaration on sporting equality for women and girls

CHESHIRE East Council has made a pivotal decision to sign the Brighton Plus Helsinki Declaration as part of a collaborative effort with Cheshire West and Chester and Warrington Councils.

The signing is set to take place on Thursday (June 12) coinciding with the launch of a joint Cheshire and Warrington Women and Girls Strategic Plan.
The Brighton Plus Helsinki Declaration is an international treaty of 10 principles aimed at ensuring equal and equitable participation in sport and physical activity for women and girls.
