War talks in Pakistan
Coventry Telegraph
|June 24, 2026
IRAN’S President Masoud Pezeshkian arrived in Pakistan yesterday for talks with officials who have been mediating negotiations between Iran and the United States on a permanent end to the war in the Middle East.
-
Mr Pezeshkian’s visit to Islamabad took place as technical teams were working on details of the deal, following high-level negotiations in Switzerland on Monday led by US Vice President JD Vance and Iran’s parliamentary speaker, Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi also joined his country’s delegation in Islamabad.
Mr Vance said the negotiations in Switzerland won an agreement for International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) inspectors to visit Iranian nuclear sites, but Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei told reporters in Tehran yesterday that no visits have been scheduled to the facilities earlier bombed by US forces.
