'Grey belt' planning decision approval for new solar farm

A 'LANDMARK 'grey belt' planning decision has been made for a solar farm on land on Coventry's doorstep.
Enviromena, the UK-based independent power producer, has announced that it has secured approval for its proposed 40MW Fillongley Solar Farm.
It came after a planning inspector overturned North Warwickshire Borough Council’s refusal of the facility on land near Meriden Road.
The firm said that the planning application had initially been recommended for approval by the council’s planning officers, but was rejected by planning committee members.
There was significant local opposition to the plan and a public planning inquiry earlier this year.
