Could the next James Bond be a red-haired actor with a Somerset connection and a real-life facial scar? Scott Rose-Marsh, pictured inset, a British actor known for roles in BBC dramas Chloe and The Outlaws, has rocketed to second place in the betting odds to become the next 007.

His rise follows the announcement that Oscar-nominated filmmaker Denis Villeneuve will direct the upcoming Bond instalment. Betting platforms including Betfred, Ladbrokes, and Oddschecker have all listed Rose-Marsh among the top contenders, putting him just behind the favourite in the race to succeed Daniel Craig.
