Local horror film now set for a global rampage

Originally called Scopophobia, the film now renamed The Mill Killers was written and directed by Aled Owen, from Carmarthen, who was joined by Tom Rawding, from Portsmouth, on producing the film.

From Monday, April 21, The Mill Killers will be available around the world on streaming platforms.

It will be available to rent or buy from Amazon, iTunes, AppleTV and Google, with the addition of Sky in the UK, and available to buy and rent in Australia and New Zealand on Amazon and iTunes.

Aled and Tom established their Carmarthen-based production company Melyn Pictures Ltd in 2021.

The pair met at the Northern Film School at Leeds Beckett University and both graduated in 2019.

This project began when the Covid-19 pandemic caused Aled's first film industry job to end prematurely, and so he and Tom decided to create an opportunity for themselves.

The film was produced on a shoestring budget, made up entirely of the cast and crew's own money and two online crowdfunding campaigns.
