Women’s Buildings, Interest-Free Loans and Free Bus Travel Opening New Pathways for Empowerment

- (Badam Pavan Kumar)

Telangana Minister for Women and Child Welfare, Panchayat Raj and Rural Development, Dr. Danasari Anasuya Seethakka, said that the State Government is committed to ensuring the economic self-reliance of women and creating opportunities for them to lead lives of dignity, confidence and financial independence.

After laying the foundation stone for the Women’s Bharosa Centre and inspecting the Indira Mahila Shakti Bhavan in Nagarkurnool district headquarters, the Minister stated that the government is giving the highest priority to the economic and social empowerment of women. She emphasized that when women become financially strong, families, villages and society as a whole progress.

Addressing members of Self-Help Groups (SHGs), Seethakka said the Indira Mahila Shakti Bhavan in Nagarkurnool is ready and would soon be inaugurated by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. She noted that the government has taken several historic decisions for the welfare and empowerment of women.

The Minister said the government recognized the need for dedicated spaces where women’s groups could hold meetings, organize training programmes and effectively conduct their activities. To address this, Women's Buildings are being constructed across the State. She recalled that SHGs had long faced difficulties due to the absence of proper meeting spaces and often had to depend on others for venues.
