The rising 'thirst' of our atmosphere

The problem of drought across the world is becoming severe and widespread, but for that just a change in the pattern of rain is not responsible.

Scientists have planted that the growing 'thirst' of our atmosphere also creates conditions like drought. The severity of drought in the last four decades (1981-2022) has increased by about 40 per cent due to atmospheric thirst. Scientists also call this atmospheric thirst atatmospheric evaporative demand (aidi).
