Farmers need to be encouraged towards natural farming : District CollectorIla Tripathi

District Collector Ila Tripathi said that there is a need to encourage farmers in the district towards cultivation of alternative crops and natural farming.

Speaking at an awareness conference organized with agricultural scientists, progressive farmers and agricultural officials on the preparedness of agricultural cultivation for the upcoming monsoon season at Udayaditya Bhavan on Friday, the District Collector said that farmers are facing many difficulties due to crops like paddy and cotton that are regularly cultivated, especially due to high labor intensity, low income, non-compliance with quality standards in the sale of crops, and untimely rains. Keeping all this in mind, he said that the farmers of the district should be directed towards alternative crops, especially sugarcane, vegetables, orchards and high-income commercial crops. Along with this, he instructed the agricultural officers to create awareness among the farmers to focus more on natural farming, and to form a cluster of every 2 mandals for the cultivation of horticultural crops and new varieties and submit proposals within a month to provide incentives for marketing. He instructed that awareness seminars should be organized next week on the cultivation of alternative crops, horticultural crops, vegetable crops and achieving high yields.
