Distribution of ration rice should be closely monitored : Minister Uttam Kumar, C.S. Shanthikumari

Nizamabad Bureau, Apr 4 : State Civil Supplies Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy has suggested that the ration rice distribution scheme, which is being implemented elaborately by the state government in Telangana like nowhere else in the country, should be closely monitored. On Friday, along with State Chief Secretary A. Shanti-thikumari, Minister Uttam Kumar reviewed the distribu-tion of ration rice with the dis-trict collectors through video conference.

Speaking on the occasion, the Minister reminded that the government has started dis-tributing ration rice free of cost through the Public Distribution System with the great determi-nation that even those belong-ing to poor families should have food security in a practical form through this scheme, and about 80 to 84 percent of the poor in the state will receive free rice. Recognizing its im-portance, he advised to work with dedication to ensure smooth distribution of rice every month in all districts.
