Disabled rights forum to lay siege to SERP office on July 23, demanding hike in pension to Rs 6k

The Telangana State Committee of the National Platform for the Rights of the Disabled (NPRD) has announced that it will stage a protest in front of the SERP (Society for Elimination of Rural Poverty) office in Hyderabad on July 23, demanding an increase in the disabled pension to Rs 6,000 as promised by the ruling Congress party.

Addressing the media on Sunday, NPRD State President K. Venkat and General Secretary M Adivaiah pointed out that it has been 19 months since the Congress assumed power in the state, and yet the assurance made by Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy during the 2023 Assembly elections remains unfulfilled. The Congress had pledged to enhance the disabled pension to ₹6,000 per month starting from December 2
