With a palpable atmosphere of inspiration and empowerment, the awards recognised a diverse range of game-changers who are redefining their industries and rewriting their narratives.

This year’s ceremony was enhanced by the remarkable achievements of global honourees, including South African music sensation Tyla, award-winning actress Demi Moore, and makeup mogul Pat McGrath, fostering a spirit of unity among women who lead and innovate.

Returning as Master of Ceremonies, seasoned broadcaster Hulisani Ravele lit up the evening, bringing warmth and charisma to the proceedings. Her ability to engage the audience with infectious energy set the perfect tone for a night dedicated to celebrating courage, brilliance, and the unmistakable power of sisterhood.

The awards showcased multiple panels and performances, including a heart-stirring performance by singer-songwriter Thabsie.

A noteworthy feature of the evening was the fireside chat, presented in collaboration with Disney+, where notable speakers, guided by GLAMOUR’S features editor Thobeka Phanyeko and travel and food influencer Thulani “Toolz” Hadebe, discussed timely topics related to women’s narratives and representation in the entertainment industry.

Reflecting on the evening's significance, GLAMOUR Editor-in-Chief Nontando Mposo said: “The GLAMOUR Women of the Year Awards 2025 (#WOTY2025): the Game Changers Edition is not merely an event; it is a powerful celebration of unstoppable women transforming industries and inspiring communities worldwide” She emphasised the collective movement of empowerment and progress represented by the award winners, who truly embody resilience and community upliftment.

Each award recipient received a unique sculpture by Emma Jane Halford, aptly named “Ascent”.

Transforming Trump's G20 snub into a strategic advantage for South Africa

THE announcement by US President Donald Trump that South Africa will be “uninvited” from the 2026 G20 Summit is, at face value, a diplomatic provocation. But beneath the headlines lies a far more consequential opportunity: the chance for South Africa - with its business leadership at the forefront - to redefine its global narrative, champion multilateralism and strengthen its position as a bridge between the West and the Global South.
