SEEING Donald Trump, the president of the United States, receive FIFA’s newly fashioned peace prise at the 2026 men’s World Cup was both scandalous and disappointing.
It left me wondering what process or selection criteria were used to nominate or award him this prise.
Trump, who had canvassed for a Nobel Peace Prize, thanked FIFA and called the award “one of the greatest honours of my life”.
