SPILLANE SAYS HE LEARNT A LOT FROM HIS LILYWHITES IN DEFEAT
CAMBRIDGE City manager Mickey Spillane felt that his team produced the 'poorest' 45 minutes of his reign during the second half of their defeat at Walthamstow on Tuesday night.
Aaron Williams-Bushell gave the Lilywhites the perfect start with a goal in the opening three minutes of the match before James Philp saves Brian Garzon’s 14th-minute spot-kick.
Charlie Heatley pulled the home side level in the 18th minute with Wilson Bernal grabbing the winning goal nine minutes into the second period.
"We started really bright, on Saturday [against Grays Athletic] we didn’t create chances, the first 15 minutes we created a load of chances, on the front foot and recycled the ball and probably should have scored two or three, that would have been fair," said Spillane, who took the job in October before signing a three-year contract in December, on Wednesday morning.
