EYNESBURY ARE UP TO 12TH IN THE UNITED COUNTIES LEAGUE PREMIER SOUTH
-
OLIVER Brookes scored the only goal of the game as Eynesbury Rovers beat Bugbrooke St Michaels 1-0 away on Saturday in the United Counties League Premier Division South.
Rovers made just one change from the side that had beaten Godmanchester Rovers 4-1 in the Hunts Senior Cup in midweek with James Hoskins returning in goal after missing the last two matches. New signing, James Smith, made his debut coming on for Lewis Lynn in the 80th minute.
Despite their lowly placing Bugbrooke started well and James Hoskins was called into action as he had to tip Jake Webster's miscued cross over the bar and on 15 minutes Enoch Opayinka's cross from the left was volleyed over by Silvano Obeng. Rovers responded and from a Dan Hammer throw-in Brookes’ header struck a defender and went behind for a corner.
Michael King chipped a lovely pass into the box but Victor Osobu’s effort was put behind for a corner by John Meadows and from the flag kick by Max Kimpton Brookes headed wide at the back post.
