AFTER the Philippine peso plunged to P59.385 against the dollar on Thursday, an analyst said the local currency may test the 60-level in the near term if oil prices remain elevated and global risk sentiment stays "fragile.

This is 21 centavos weaker than its previous finish of P59.17 on Wednesday.
