Pact aims to tighten oversight of public works
Business Mirror
|February 25, 2026
A BROADER effort to tighten oversight of public works projects and the use of national funds was formalized on Tuesday with a partnership bringing together the private sector, government, Church-based groups and local leaders.
The agreement, marked by the signing of the Implementing Rules (IRR) and arevised Memorandum of Cooperation, links the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI), the Department of Public Works and Highways, Mayors for Good Governance, and Caritas Philippines in a joint framework aimed at strengthening transparency and public accountability in infrastructure spending.
Under the arrangement, PCCI represents the private sector, whose members play a role in economic activity and, by extension, have a stake in how public funds are allocated and spent.
