Warning from Severn Trent that despite the recent wet weather, currrent drought conditions could last until 'into next year'

Levels in reservoirs serving this area - including Carsington - remain 'very low'.

DROUGHT conditions across the Midlands could continue well into next year. Despite recent wet weather, the levels in the Carsington and Ogston reservoirs remain very low.

As a result, the Enviornment Agency has approved a drought permit application from Severn Trent Water to allow the company to secure public water supplies, should below-average rainfall continue.
