ROLLESTON could not bat well enough to trouble Beechwood Mazda Premier Division leaders Ockbrook & Borrowash in a game reduced to 20 overs a side by the rain on Saturday.
-
Ockbrook chose to bat and posted 162-5, thanks in the main to a dominant innings by Ximus Du Plooy, who hit 80 from 36 balls with nine fours and five sixes.
Irfan Ahmadzai returned a creditable 2-23 from his four overs for Rolleston, including getting both openers out.
Tom Liversage, opening, scored 45 from 47 balls for Rolleston and Thaveesha Abhishek added 34 from 21 balls but they could not keep up with the required rate and finished on 138-5, pegged back especially by Charlie Birch-Man taking 3-17, to lose by 24 runs.
Ticknall lost by six wickets away to Spondon in a game shortened to 24 overs a side.
Choosing to bat, Ticknall posted 172-5, Paul Borrington scoring 60 from 48 balls and putting on 62 for the second wicket with Tom Wood (48 from 41 balls).
