BURTON-BORN Concorde pilot Mike Bannister spoke of his pride at being chosen to take control of the aircraft's last ever commercial flight in October 2003.

In an exclusive interview with the Burton Mail, the then 54-year-old British Airways (BA) chief pilot also said he planned to hang up his flying wings in the Burton area when he retired.
Concorde began her historic farewell tour in mid-October 2003, visiting five British cities in five days and giving thousands of people the chance to see the supersonic jet fly for the very last time.
