NHS workers put to the test in a 'mock' emergency drill

MORE than 100 members of NHS staff and volunteers took part in a mock emergency drill at Burton's Queen's Hospital in October 2012.
Emergency services from across Staffordshire joined forces at the Belvedere Road site for Operation Prometheus, designed to test the response to a fire evacuation.
The training day saw vacant wards at the hospital transformed into a 22-bed community health unit; three-bed and 13-seated mental health unit; a four-bed critical care unit and a six-bed emergency admissions unit.
