Hundreds of bin collection delays

COUNCIL BLAMES STAFF SHORTAGES LEADING TO 'DIFFICULT PERIOD'

HUNDREDS of bins have been missed by a council after collections on more than 110 streets were delayed due to staff shortages.

In the past month, South Derbyshire District Council has not collected bins on a combined total of 112 streets on time.

The council says this “difficult period” is connected to staff shortages and amounts to less than one per cent of bins not collected on time.
