Keith's long-mooted move to Derby confirmed
KEITH Gilroy's departure as Burton Albion academy manager was confirmed by the club yesterday.
The news that he was to join Derby County was let out by the Rams a couple of months ago but Gilroy had not left the Brewers - he was working his notice.
Gilroy was a hugely popular winger for Albion from 2005-11, being part of the squad promoted to the Football League.
Coaching work with Derby followed his retirement as a player but the Irishman had married and settled in Burton and moved to the Brewers coaching staff in 2019. He took over as academy manager when Dan Robinson left the role to join Peterborough United in 2023.
