A HENGROVE resident has been left counting the cost after a car ploughed into a boundary wall and part of a garage.

The owner of the home on Alverstoke, who has asked not to be named, said she was at home at about 4.30pm on Thursday when she heard a “mighty bang - I think the whole neighbourhood heard it!”

She explained the driver - a nearby neighbour - was apparently turning left into the road from Bamfield and, unfortunately, may have misjudged the turn or had a medical episode.

She said: “I went out the front door and what I saw was horrific. The damage was immense. The car had gone through the wall and into the garage and then appears to have bounced back.
