School fence panels removed as row rumbles on
Bristol Post
|January 29, 2026
A CONTROVERSIAL fence at a Bristol school’s playing fields has been damaged for the second time in two months.
-
Panel sections were removed at Stoke Lodge over the weekend, reigniting a bitter 15-year dispute between Cotham School and local residents.
The site is leased to the school by Bristol City Council but has been the subject of a long-running battle over public access. One resident posted on social media that “fence fairies” had been busy, noting the public could now enter the grounds.
