A NEW initiative is launching in Bristol to celebrate the city’s everyday heroes, offering free use of local leisure centres to individuals spearheading grassroots projects that improve lives in their communities.

The Community Champions scheme, launched by leisure operator Everyone Active in partnership with Bristol City Council, will support people tackling issues ranging from health and wellbeing to cultural inclusivity and environmental action. The scheme officially opened on Thursday, May 1.
