Robins boss confirms City are ‘super close’ to signing Morsy

BRISTOL City are “super close” with former Ipswich Town captain Sam Morsy, Gerhard Struber has confirmed, with the Robins boss hinting the Ashton Gate-linked midfielder may be seen in red and white in “the next few days.”
The Robins are understood to be in advanced talks with the 34-year-old, who is without a club, having left Kuwait SC in September, over a potential move that would see him join the ranks in south Bristol during the January transfer window.
Morsy, pictured, who captained Ipswich as they won promotion to both the Championship and the Premier League, made the switch to the Middle East this summer, having departed Portman Road as a free agent, following the Tractor Boys’ relegation back to the second tier. When asked about the links earlier last week, City assistant head coach Bernd Eibler suggested such a question was better for Struber to answer, and after the Robins’ Boxing-Day win over West Brom, the City boss was able to provide the latest update.
