In good company... MARION MCMULLEN finds out how ITV sitcom Two's Company launched 50 years ago

THE comedy sparks flew when Broadway legend Elaine Stritch and British actor Sir Donald Sinden teamed up for Two's Company.

The ITV sitcom saw them play chalk and cheese characters Dorothy McNab and Robert Hiller.

Dorothy made a living as an American thriller writer and hired Robert as her English butler, tasked with looking after her Chelsea home while she was busy writing another bestseller.
