'Cycling with men' had been an obscure entry in our family calendar for three months now.

Usually such a thing might have attracted investigation, but it seemed to have passed Victoria by thus far. I thought, why draw attention to something that's clearly written in the diary we use to manage parties, events, work things, or anything else out of the ordinary?

In fact, the policy is you add something, don't discuss it, therefore it's no longer your responsibility, and we're both guilty of such behaviour.

It's a similar process to sending an email to someone mentioning a job that needs doing, then not discussing it, and expecting your colleague to pick up the work.
