Cricket Goodman and De Lange to miss Glo'sters next two matches
Bristol Post
|May 14, 2025
BOWLERS Dominic Goodman and Marchant de Lange are set to miss the final two games of Gloucestershire’s opening block of the County Championship season.
South African de Lange has taken five wickets in two games this season, while Goodman's only appearance saw him take nine wickets in the defeat to Leicestershire at Bristol.
But he suffered some back stress after that game and the 24-year-old faces a spell on the sidelines.
"Dom Goodman was always going to challenge the bowling unit and bowled superbly, but has a bit of back stress which is why he didn’t play at Old Trafford in the last game,” said head coach Mark Alleyne.
“He has had scans and unfortunately he will be missing for a little bit.”
De Lange lined up against Derbyshire and Kent in April but suffered an ankle injury during Kent's first innings and did not bowl again in the match.
“Marchant’s rehab is going well and he should be ready for the start of the T20 - he'll be fit shortly.
“But he will miss these two Championship games which is a shame, as I felt he was bowling particularly well.
“He's had a bit of soft tissue trouble and his action is all energy, which makes him more sensitive than most.”
