Cowley impressed by 'Premier League' quality of Rovers' goal

COLCHESTER United manager Danny Cowley has described Fabrizio Cavegn's goal for Bristol Rovers against the Us in Saturday's 1-1 draw as "a Premier League goal".

- Dan HARGRAVES

The Essex outfit fell behind in the 40th minute, despite a bright firsthalf display, as Alfie Chang played a delightful through ball into the path of Cavegn, who slammed the ball into the roof of the net from a slight angle.

Teenager Micah Mbick's equaliser early in the second half ensured the points were shared on a day where the Gas weren't at their best, but Cowley was extremely complimentary of Rovers and their Swiss striker.

"We didn't get the win that I thought our performance deserved against a, let me tell you, really good Bristol Rovers team," the Colchester manager, pictured, told club media.
