THE meningitis outbreak in Kent highlights that the NHS needs to be strengthened before another pandemic, families bereaved by coronavirus have said.

It comes after the UK Covid-19 Public Inquiry published a new report on Thursday on how the healthcare system in Britain coped in the face of the virus.
Inquiry chairwoman Baroness Heather Hallett found the health service “came close to collapse” and “coped but only just”.
Stay home, Protect the NHS, Save Lives slogans used during the Covid-19 pandemic “sent the message that healthcare was closed”, the inquiry into the crisis said.
