Centenary of Thatcher is no cause for celebration

THE 100th anniversary of the birth of Margaret Thatcher should be a reason for national mourning, not an excuse for ramming Mrs Hacksaw’s smug face down our throats.

Remember this was the woman who, instead of investing in the country, threw the benefits of North Sea Oil down the drain. She cast British preeminence in science and engineering under a bus.
