'Capitalism escape room' Sparks to offer Christmas 'with a conscience'
Bristol Post

As Christmas songs and luxury food get the tills ringing at Cabot Circus’ new Marks and Spencer, a rather different tune is being played at its former home.

Sparks Bristol, at M&S’s old Broadmead store, is calling on shoppers to reject the pressure of over-consumption by putting on an anti-consumerist festive season focused on conscious, creative choices that prioritise people and the planet.
Attractions are set to include a “Capitalism Escape Room” as well as crafts made by refugees.
“This winter, Sparks Bristol is inviting visitors to rediscover the magic of the festive season - not through over-consumption, but through conscious, creative choices that put people and planet first,” a spokesman said. “As the city's community-led department store for positive change, Sparks brings together local traders, artists and social enterprises to offer gifts, fashion and food that support Bristol’s circular economy and reduce environmental impact.
