Basketball Andersons shine as Flyers start Trophy campaign in style

BRISTOL Flyers opened their SLB Trophy campaign with a 97-79 win on the road, holding off Surrey 89ers on their home court.
-
The Andersons, Zach and Joe, were the Flyers’ standouts in the game, both finishing with double-doubles; Zach with 19 points and 10 rebounds, with Joe finishing with 11 points and 14 assists. Six Flyers players finished with double-figure scoring on the night, helping claim a potentially crucial win in the most-southern group.
Cam Holden opened the scoring with a split pair from the line, immediately followed with the same action from 89ers captain Tayo Ogedengbe. Will Yoakum got the first bucket from open play with a brutal baseline jam to stun SSP into early silence.
It continued to be an early aerial assault from Bristol as Marcus Delpeche went upstairs to slam home Cam Holden's lob. The Flyers built out to a 9-2 lead, forcing Lloyd Gardner into calling a timeout.
