Athletics Victory boosts club's bid to avoid the drop in Midlands Track & Field League
Bristol Post

BRISTOL & West AC's fight to avoid relegation from Division One was given a massive boost with a thrilling victory in the penultimate match of the Midlands Track & Field League.
With the benefit of ‘home’ advantage as the match was hosted at Yate the club, which now competes in the league as a combined outfit with Team Bath AC, scored 543.5 points to finish 60 points clear of their nearest rivals.
“The result was emphatic,’ said team manager Jon Jackson.
“Coming into this match we were sixth out of six teams and destined for a quick return to division two with our local rivals, but following the 60 points win, the overnight results had us moved up to fourth place ahead of Gloucester, who were pipped for second on the day by league leaders BRAT, and Rugby & Northampton.
“If we can beat these two teams in the final match, we will remain in the top division and be able to start thinking about National League status, again - maybe!”
