A FORMER chief executive of Leicester City Football Club has been elected as the 490th Mayor of Boston.
Councillor Barrie Pierpoint was chosen to be the next worshipful mayor for the area during Boston Borough Council’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Monday evening (May 19).
Proposed for the position by council leader Anne Dorrian and seconded by deputy leader Dale Broughton, he accepted the honour, taking over from Cllr Helen Staples who held the role for 2024/25.
