Dale Jacques, a serving soldier, and his wife have a holiday home at Tattershall Lakes Country Park, which they purchased during the pandemic so that they could spend time together between his deployments when travel restrictions were in place.

The couple rent out their holiday home to help manage the costs associated with it, such as ground rent, water, rates, gas, electric, insurance, hot tub maintenance and general wear and tear.

However, they say that like other owners on the site, they have noticed an increase in electricity consumption.

They believe this is due to guests charging electric vehicles at the holiday homes through using a cable through the window, despite there being dedicated charging points.

Dale said: “We have noticed an increase in our electric consumption based on our bills as have other owners on site. And many have suggested it's due to guests charging EVs during their stay, which is against the park owner's site rules.
