Casino, hospital and brewery on the list
The Genting Club casino at Star City
A STRING of large Midland employers have been named and shamed for failing to pay some staff their proper wages.
A total of 52 companies were on a list of firms which did not pay the minimum wage to every employee.
The Government said around 5,000 workers in the West Midlands had been repaid a total of more than £600,000 and total fines of more than £1 million handed out.
Top of the list was Genting Casino, based at Birmingham's StarCity entertainment complex. It owed a staggering £303,936 to 1,583 workers.
Other notable inclusions in the upper echelons of the list were brewery Mitchells & Butlers, which failed to pay £14,636 to 116 workers, and University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust, which owed 27 workers a total of £8,086.
