WITH only three more fixtures to play in the premier league of the Sheldon and District Winter League, leaders Sheldon Marlborough Arrows moved another step closer to clinching the title with an 8-1 victory playing away against Mackadown Sports and Social Club.

The win takes the top team to 24 points and keeps them two points up on second-placed Langley Arrows who with a 160 finish from Paul Nixon, recorded a 7-2 win at home against third placed Raven Arrows, who are now eight points short of the victors but with two games in hand.

No change in the top three places in division one with Smithswood Social Club adding a close 5-4 win away to third placed Yardley Ex Colts, who are six points behind their opponents. Second placed Old Salts Darts, with a maximum from Danny Chiswell, had an 8-1 win at Iron Horse Rebels, and with both of the top two teams having four more games to play Smithswood have a four-point advantage over Old Salts. Fourth in the division Kingshurst Labour Club whose Ben Proctor notched a maximum, won 5-4 at home against Langley Flights, they are on the same 16 points as Yardley Ex Colts but from one game fewer after they won 5-4 at home against Langley Flights.

Leaders of division two Sheldon Marlborough Flights had a close 5-4 home win over Digby, but despite the narrow victory they opened up a two points lead at the top of the table as their nearest rivals Moseley Rugby Club had their fixture with Lyndon Old Boys postponed but the Rugby Club have played the same 12 games as the leaders. Third and fourth placed Raven and Lyndon Old Boys are both on 12 points, Raven winning 7-2 at home against bottom placed Langley Pints, Stuart Reeve recording a ten-dart game for Raven while Lyndon Old Boys have only played nine games and have three in hand on all of the three teams above them, wins in those games would see Lyndon Old Boys go level on points with the divisional leaders Sheldon Marlborough Flights,
