Tributes to teen 'full of laughter' who died following asthma attack

A BIRMINGHAM teenager who was "full of laughter" died after suffering an early-morning asthma attack.

Budding engineer Ryan Keys, aged 14, from Kitts Green, had a cardiac arrest following the sudden attack at around 1.20am on March 24.

His dad Mark, one of his sisters and 999 officers gave him CPR and he was rushed to Heartlands Hospital.

The teenager, who had twin sisters, a brother and five half-siblings, was put into a coma but suffered three more arrests and died surrounded by his loved ones on the evening of March 27 after being transferred to Birmingham Children's Hospital. A fundraising appeal launched on behalf of his dad said family and friends had "wished for a miracle" but it was not to be. Mark and Ryan's mum Laura are separated and both are raising money in the schoolboy's memory.
