THE VERDICT: MOORS 1 ALDERSHOT 5

Taylor apologises to fans after embarrassing defeat

BOSS Matt Taylor apologised for the “embarrassing” surrender that led Solihull Moors being booed off at the end of a 5-1 bashing by Aldershot Town.

Halftime substitute Shzem Whyte-Hall halved Solihull’s 2-0 deficit seconds after his introduction, heading in after a clever kickoff routine, but conceding a penalty on the hour led to complete collapse against a side that had started the day without a point from three outings.

It is the Moors’ biggest home defeat since 2021 when a 5-0 loss to Stockport County led to Jimmy Shan being relieved of his duties the following day.

“We started quite well but didn’t capitalise and you saw the difference between the teams,” said Taylor.

“When they had their chances they took them and they had chances because of our bad play. All the things I have applauded the group for (in recent weeks), we didn’t do them.
