Seized vehicles could be crushed in just one week

CALL TO CHANGE LAW TO TACKLE E-SCOOTERS
VEHICLES used by gangs and criminal networks could be crushed by police in just a week under new rules.
Police and Crime Commissioner for the West Midlands Simon Foster is calling for urgent changes to the law to allow West Midlands Police to destroy seized vehicles within seven days.
At the moment police have to store seized vehicles for 14 days.
The proposal, part of a national consultation on amendments to legislation, is aimed at tackling the “growing threat” posed by e-bikes, e-scooters and other vehicles.
