Restaurant boss named as bank stabbing victim

A WEST Bromwich-based businessman has been named locally as the victim of a fatal stabbing that took place inside a Midland bank.

Gurvinder Singh Johal, known to friends as Danny, died following the incident at Lloyd’s bank in Derby city centre on Tuesday afternoon.

Derbyshire Constabulary launched a murder investigation and a man in his 40s was later arrested on suspicion of murder at a prop erty in Normanton, while a second man in his 30s was detained at the same prop erty on suspicion of assist ing an offender.

Mr Johal owned and ran the Hen and Chickens Bar and Grill restaurant in Derby.
